Wedding – Texas Style

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Congrats to Samantha and Jeff who just got married in San Antonio.   Sam is my cousin, and I was thrilled to be invited to see her walk down the aisle!  For their fall wedding, Sam and Jeff wanted something very laid back and very Texan. They found the perfect spot at Cibolo Livery.  Check out the beer chairs for the ceremony!   At the reception, they treated us to Lone Star beer, country music and some seriously tasty bbq.  Oh, and did I mention they also had a mechanical bull?  Too fun y’all!

Gingerbread Favors

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

If your wedding takes place during the holidays, consider having your favorite local bakery whip up some adorable gingerbread cookies. Decorated like a bride and groom, these festive favors could also double as place cards.

Rustic Elegance

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Brooke and Dave just moved to Colorado and loved the outdoors.  For their wedding, we came up with an idea of rustic elegance -bringing some outdoor elements inside.  Nancy at Five Star Decor worked her magic, and she, along with her staff, transformed the tent with curly willow and tiny white lights.  Sri with Seralina Custom Floral added to the ambiance with striking willow centerpieces overflowing with apricot and coral roses, green hydrangea, red hypericum berries, ivory phlox and Brooke’s favorite, a few green apples.  Brienne and Cynthia with Cayton Photography captured these images.

Petals and Blooms

Monday, December 1st, 2008

I just returned from the Association of Bridal Consultants‘ annual conference in Newport Beach.  While I was there, I got to preview some of the latest designs in flowers, cakes, stationery and linens.   Below are pictures I took of two rose and orchid centerpieces.  These were created by Lavender Hill - a floral design co. from Orange County.  I love how they covered the vases in petals giving them a ruffled effect.  I also like how they placed pink roses on the menus and in the coffee cups to continue the theme.
