Yellow is my favorite color right now. Look at these flowers. Don’t they just scream summer? I can’t wait!

I love the new Sustain & Heal invitation line by Demilo Design. Created from fair trade and 100% post consumer waste paper and handmade by women who are ”living positively” with HIV in Kenya, these beautiful wedding invitations help people and the planet!

I just got back from Home Depot where I bought these gerber daisies. I have never planted these before so I hope they make it! Anyway, gerbers are great for wedding flowers because a) they are large and take up lots of space in your centerpieces, b) they are less expensive than callas or roses and c) they come in lots of really great colors.

While I do not encourage brides to make their own wedding cake, I think this recipe from Epicurious sounds delicious! Making your own wedding cake is WAY TOO STRESSFUL, and there is way too much to do the week of the wedding. Have a friend make this for you as their gift and make sure they do a practice cake first! Last week I had the opportunity to tour The Lodge at Cathedral Pines. This venue is located in Black Forest and is an ideal setting for a small, intimate Colorado wedding. Surrounded by towering ponderosa pines, the Lodge features an outdoor patio for ceremonies and a beautiful water feature for scenic photographs. For receptions, the Lodge can accommodate approximately 100 guests for cocktails or approximately 80 guests for a seated dinner.

Lavender is a beautiful accent to a wedding….

If you have a child that will be part of your wedding and would like to give them a special gift during the ceremony, I think these collectible bears are adorable. Created By Vermont Teddy Bear Company, this furry couple comes in honey, buttercream, dark chocolate and vanilla.

Many brides are drawn to whites or soft pinks, but it’s bright colors that make really great photographs. Look how these roses really stand out. Photo by Wendy at Blue Fox Photography.

This cake, created by Sugar in Oklahoma, caught my eye. I love the colors and the hand painted tiles. It would be so pretty at a spring or summer wedding.
