The wedding cake that caught my eye this month is from Venus Cakes. The cake is lemon with lemon butter cream and covered with pale eucalyptus fondant, pale yellow and white daisies and brush embroidery decorations. Beautiful!
I am a frosting fiend, so when I heard about Sprinkles Cupcakes‘ frosting shots, I knew I was in heaven. Sprinkles is supposed to be opening a location in Denver soon! Until then, make your own and serve them at your next party. Yum!

While I do not encourage brides to make their own wedding cake, I think this recipe from Epicurious sounds delicious! Making your own wedding cake is WAY TOO STRESSFUL, and there is way too much to do the week of the wedding. Have a friend make this for you as their gift and make sure they do a practice cake first! I love this idea. Created by The Blushing Bakeshop in Washington D.C., these ice cream cones are actually beautifully disguised cupcakes. They’re almost too pretty to eat!
This is a cute idea for a party or shower. Instead of serving cake, consider having “decorate your own” cupcakes.
This chocolate wedding cake is from Classic Cakes of Aspen. The roses and hydrangea are truly stunning, and the stand made from a tree really adds to the organic look. Bravo!
